VEPOWER is partnering with a Malaysian concern to develop 25,000 hectares of land into a bioenergy plantation. 

Local people will be offered the options to take up a plot of land for the cultivation of Jatropha curcas while co-cultivating food and cash crops.  Toward the end of the projected 40 year lifespan of the planting native forest trees will be planted among the Jatropha trees in an initiative to restore the native forests.
